Our Sin...God's Grace

You struggle with sin don't you? Admit it. There are still that part of you that tries and tries, but falls again at times. Frustrating isn't it? It's that "flesh vs Spirit battle" within each of us. About the time we feel like we've really got a handle on it, it rears its ugly head again.

Maybe this will encourage you to KEEP FIGHTING. Check out Romans 5: 17-21. Look at these few truths.
1. The provision of God's grace covers all sin (17). God's unmerited, undeserved favor covers our sin -- ALL of it. Go to God and keep "short sin lists" with Him. His promise and word are always true even when ours isn't.

2. The provision of God's grace covers all amounts of sin (20). There is no "cap" on His grace, His love for us. He keeps forgiving. Now, that's not a reason to just keep on sinning, but it is a wonderful truth to know His unconditional love.
3. God's grace abounds through righteousness (21). It is our righteousness, achieved through God's love that actually causes grace to increase, abound and grow -- not our sin! When we live in His righteousness, he is a proud father who sees us living in truth -- and THAT, my friends is the ultimate proof of His grace.

Let's live in that truth NOW!

Brian - Thank you for that reminder. Even as a faithful Christian for so many years, I have just recently felt the strong pull of the "flesh". It has made me realize just how "weak" strong Christians can be and can fall back into sin without even realizing it. And by traveling down that world road again after such a long time, it's easy to believe the whispers of satan that Jesus won't forgive us, especially after we have knowingly sinned. I definitely needed the reminder. Thank you -

Oh How wonderful is our Jesus!

It is unfathomable as a human to forgive and forgive and forgive again...

I suppose that is what makes God... GOD!

Thanks for the reminder.

Whew- I am sure glad I never sin..... Seriously, as a human,I would get so tired of forgiving and forgiving and never seeing a changed heart. I am SO thankful that God not only forgives us, but WANTS to forgive us. He doens't offer grace begrudgingly but lovingly calls us back to repentance. Thank the Lord!

and it only gets better in romans 8. we have no ties whatsoever to our old nature because the holy spirit allows us to be sons and daughters of god. and that is HUGE. last i heard, this one guy was called the son of god, and he did pretty well in life.
